Herbicide resistance is a growing threat to soybean producers, but not an insurmountable challenge if all producers make an effort to manage their crops effectively to prevent the spread of herbicide resistance and do everything in their power to eliminate resistant weeds. The North Carolina Soybean Producers Association has been doing its part to manage this issue by promoting an effort called Weed Free NC, which encourages N.C. farmers to take a zero tolerance approach to managing herbicide resistant weeds.

The Weed Free NC effort includes a website, http://www.weedfreenc.com, which provides producers a host of information and resources that are helpful in battling herbicide resistance, from preparing to plant crops to planting to growing season and beyond.
