Today’s consumers have many questions about how food is grown and plenty of misperceptions to go with them. And, there is no one better to answer these questions than farmers. The NCSPA participates in many activities where farmers have conversations with consumers about food and farming, including Ag Day at N.C.State University, Meet the Farmer days at Marbles Kids Museum, and outreach events at local schools, community centers, extension centers and more. The association even held a dinner for media last Fall, where they could hear straight talk on agriculture from soybean farmers and answer questions of interest to their readers.
Do people ask you questions about farming frequently? Do you wish you had some resources to help answer them? You are the best source of knowledge about farming and it’s important to tell your story. This article from USB provides some helpful sources in being prepared to have these conversations.
