A record 81.5 million acres of soybeans are expected to be planted in Brazil this year, marking the ninth consecutive year of increased acreage. By comparison, 85.1 million acres are expected to be planted this year in the United States.
With such increases in acreage the worldwide export market is becoming more competitive, however there are notable differences in soybean farming in Brazil, including the climate, availability of affordable financing, the size of farming equipment, transportation infrastructure and international competitiveness.
