The NCSPA awarded its North Carolina Soybean Research Scholarships for the next academic year on Apr. 6, 2016. The scholarships are provided to students each year studying soybean production and involved in soybean research at N.C. State University based on merit and need, with a strong preference for students from N.C. families farming soybeans. The association established the scholarships to support students who are seeking careers in the soybean industry.
Recipients of the North Carolina Soybean Research Scholarships for the 2016-2017 academic year are:
- Joshua Joyner, Johnston Cty., a rising junior majoring in Plant and Soil Sciences in the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences
- James Ferebee, Currituck Cty., a rising senior majoring in Agribusiness Management in the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences
- Dustin Black, Randolph Cty., a rising senior majoring in Plant Biology in the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences
- Collin Blalock, Wilson Cty., a rising sophomore majoring in Agricultural Science in the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences
- Tyler Englebright, Granville Cty., a rising second year student majoring in Field Crop Technology in the Agricultural Institute
- Joseph Hunter, Lenoir Cty., a rising senior majoring in Agricultural Science in the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences
