JOCO Works 2019
During the week of November 11th, Johnston County “JOCO Works 2019” hosted its first Career Expo at the Johnston Community College campus in Smithfield, N.C. There were approximately 4,000 eighth grade students, teachers, school administrators, parents, industry leaders, and volunteers attending the expo on November 14-15, 2019. Those students were from public schools, charter schools, private school and home schools surrounding the Johnston County area. This year the purpose of the Expo was to create awareness about career opportunities among these students. JOCO Works 2019 presented by Novo Nordisk was developed as a collaborative-led industry to support the educational, business, civic and governmental partners toward future career opportunities of these eight grade students. Hopefully, these students will gain insight into the agriculture field as they toured the numerous hands-on educational exhibits.
